Faculty Symposia Program

Proposals should be 2-3 pages in length and include the following:

• A description of the project, including its significance to the discipline;
  
  
• An abstract of the project (approximately 200 words), suitable for posting on the web;
  
  
• A detailed budget, including other sources of funding if applicable;
  
  
• A list of proposed participants in the project, with a brief curriculum vitae (or URL) for each, if available;
  
  
• A description of the resulting publication.

Eligible expenses include:

• Honoraria for guest speakers (up to $500 per speaker)
  
  
• Meals on campus
  
  
• Participants should plan to cover own travel costs; however, the organizer may include funds to help defray travel/lodging expenses (maximum of $400 per person)
  
  
• Conference set-up expenses
  
  
• Student assistance
  
  
• Materials and supplies
  
  
• Publication expenses

We expect a symposium award to cover most or all expenses, so awardees would not normally need funding from campus committees such as Lectures and Concerts or the Faculty Development Committee.
